The answer isn't capability. It's how the environment reads what someone does. This is the thinking behind everything we build.

Where This Began
I grew up in a culture where respect meant waiting, and hierarchy shaped how people spoke, made decisions, and took action.
Later, I was trained to work in international, cross-cultural environments where many of those same behaviours were interpreted very differently.
I wasn't watching this gap from the outside. I was standing inside it.
That's when I realised the problem wasn't capability. It was interpretation.
That question became the starting point for everything I have built since.
The Root Cause
Most development focuses on what people do.
We begin with how they see the situation.
Because before someone communicates, leads, or takes action, they've already decided what they believe the situation requires.
If that interpretation is inaccurate, even capable people can make the wrong decision, send the wrong signal, or miss what the environment is actually asking for.
That's why we don't start with behaviour. We start with interpretation.
The Problem, Named
Every culture, organisation, and professional environment has its own expectations of respect, confidence, initiative, and ownership.
A gesture that reads as respectful in one culture can be seen as passive in another. A decision that appears confident in one workplace may be perceived as reckless in the next.
The behaviour doesn't change. The interpretation does.
The Interpretation Gap™ is the distance between how people interpret a situation and what the environment actually expects.
It's why capable people are often overlooked, misunderstood, or underestimated — not because they lack ability, but because their behaviour is interpreted through a different lens.
What Gets Built
Closing The Interpretation Gap™ is not about becoming someone else. It is about developing the capability to interpret situations accurately and respond in ways that align with the expectations of the environment.
We call this capability Cross-Cultural Intelligence™.
It strengthens the way people think, make decisions, communicate, and execute — creating more consistent performance across cultures, teams, and professional environments.
Rather than changing who people are, it helps them adapt how they understand and respond, so capability can be recognised and applied where it matters most.
How The Thinking Is Built
Cross-Cultural Intelligence™ is not developed by learning concepts alone. It is developed through a structured process that helps people recognise, rethink, and respond differently in real situations.
We call this The SEE Method™.
It begins by understanding how people interpret situations before changing how they communicate, decide, or perform.
The method is introduced here, but applied through our programmes and consulting engagements.
